Having always been athletic in BMX (multiple time State Champion), football, basketball, track, taekwondo, wrestling, bodybuilding (State Champion) growing up, I turned to cycling while in Chiropractic school. Making the shift from being a “gym-rat” to more of the endurance scene, I began running and swimming one winter and purchased a bike in the spring. I began doing group rides for fitness, and was encouraged to give racing the bike a try. I won my first race, and have been hooked ever since. In my first attempt at Elite National Criterum Championships (2006), I made a bid for corner 8 at Downer’s Grove, and at that time so did the eventual winner and runner up. We bumped shoulders a bit, and being newer to the sport I held back and went through the corner 4th, eventually finishing there. I had a taste of how close I could be to the top, so I’ve stuck with it. It has been a welcome challenge to balance owning a clinic and practicing as a Doctor of Chiropractic, with the rigors of travel and training that it takes to race at the level we do. I enjoy the competitive nature of racing as well as the camaraderie with great teammates. A couple races stand out over the years as being memorable moments such as Texas Tough (1st place, USA Crits finals 2010), Athens Twilight (Most Aggressive Rider, 2011), Snake Alley Criterium (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) among others. I really look forward to racing with the team at Elbowz Racing and helping the team achieve some great results. I think the talent and ability of each rider is incredible, we will have some great times this year.

| Began Racing | Began racing BMX back in the late 80’s when it was “rad.” 15 years later, I began running and swimming to train for a triathlon. I purchased a road bike, went on group rides, and was convinced to give a road race a shot. I won and became an addict of the bike. Here I am now. |
| First Race | First road race was on the outskirts of Minneapolis/St. Paul metro. Maybe 50 miles, field sprint, just crushed it. (realize, at that time I was about 185 and pure muscle from bodybuilding background, maximum wattage). |
| Training | Yes, I most certainly do. A couple weeks ago, I got my first power meter and heart rate monitor. So instead of just group rides to get fit. I can focus more! |
| Hobbies | Always love photography, I have a black lab that I love traveling with. Cross Country skiing, Hiking. |
