Strength to Strength.

Right now the Elbowz Racing Team is on a roll.
The wins seem to keep on coming, from Joe Martin stage race and our first NRC win, to a race at tour de grove, to Georgetown grand and the state crit champs to bike the bricks with many more wins in between, the team really is on a roll. Naturally we came into Tulsa tough with confidence and high goals and after some near misses and great rides in the first two races we pulled it off again with Eric dominating the final race and taking the win!! This is another big win for Eric and the team and another win on the NCC/NRC calendar. Eric and the team were racing amazing all weekend and the win was a great reward.
For myself I’ve taken a lot of real joy and excitement from these wins. As team captain I take a lot of pride in seeing the team achieve such great results. I’ve been a part of many NRC race wins, and even on the top overall NRC team in 2007. But these race wins have in a way been more fulfilling and are hard to describe. For myself there’s many aspects to that satisfaction. Seeing the way the guys have really gelled as a team, started racing as a team and sticking to team plans and seeing the results that they can get when everyone does their job and it all comes together. The boost in confidence from everyone, knowing that instead of just being in these races we are there to make the race and fight for the win. All of us as a team learning from our mistakes and growing from them. Getting these results for Ben, Nick, all the staff that have been helping us out and all our great sponsors who have had the faith in us.
But nothing beats the feeling of excitement and joy everyone has and shares after we get these great results, from the riders to the staff and even myself, acting like kids and sharing the victory together.
It’s this spirit that will keep this team punching above its weight and going from strength to strength.
We set some big goals this year, a lot of them have been achieved, but there’s still plenty more to come from us all, I can promise that.
